The famous tradition is “trick and treats” for which children are excited because it allows them to play a few harmless tricks. Children knock door to door to ask for treats or tricks on the 1st of November. The only thing that makes it different from Halloween is that there are no masks or costumes used. All saints day in Portugal is celebrated in some unique way as compared to the rest of the world. Whereas children in a group visit their neighbors knocking and singing a few verses, and they get candies, chocolates, seasonal fruits, apples, or money too.

Pumpkin carving is done for a long and named after the mythical monster coca for Halloween in Portugal.
